Magicomm release Mercury 467 on Blackberry, Nokia Mobiles running the latest Series 60 V3 (Symbian 9) and Mercury Mariner for most Java based Mobile Devices.
More than just a router, Mercury and its derivatives offers a two-way interactive communications platform delivering true remote field worker automation.
The Mercury platform, as used by UK Police forces is now able to run on a broad range of mobile devices. Magicomm customers are now able to choose which mobile devices that they wish to use to run Magicomm’s communications platforms, the users can be running different versions on the same application implementation.
Andy Haynes, Magicomm’s Technical Director, commented, “We believe that we have the most advanced communications platform available for use with our digital pen applications. Had we gone down the router and mobile web data-validation path it would have been possible to offer a broad range of supported devices much sooner but the functionality would have been restricted. The Mercury suite of programs is now available for operation on almost all mobile devices and they can co-exist with the same application for the same customer.” He continued, “By keeping all of the development in-house we maintain our philosophy of being responsible for our implementations in their entirety. The photo-up and photo-down functionality is a feature that does not require users messing around with their mobiles. They simply take the required photographs (using their mobiles), complete the form, tick Send and Mercury will take of the rest – simplicity itself.”
