Magicomm South Africa announced today that they have successfully delivered a Digital Pen and Paper solution to Cell C Service Provider Company, the first adopter of the technology in Africa .
The system will be deployed across the first of Cell C Service Provider Company’s target channels over the next months, with over 1000 points of presence having been identified as possible adopters of the technology, using digital pen and paper kits.
“The quick and secure capture and processing of client data, and the accurate and efficient reporting and delivery of information are two of the critical challenges we face in our business,” said Steve Bailey, Financial Director at Cell C Service Provider Company. “We are excited about the edge that the state-of-the-art digital writing technology will give us. This new technology will give our outlets and dealers more time to focus on the customer and their needs, instead of manual data entry, or struggling with paper-work. It will also mean we get back to our customers with answers faster. We have already proven the ability to be able to approve new applications in fewer than three minutes, which re-defines customer service levels and expectations in our market space.”
Andrew Wynne, Director of Magicomm South Africa , made the announcement of the successful deployment. “We are delighted to be involved in the first successful implementation of the technology in Africa , and excited and proud to have Cell C Service Provider Company as our first live customer. The professionalism and enthusiasm of the team at Cell C Service Provider Company have made this project a success from the outset. The Credit Application and Airtime Agreement data capture requirements are an ideal fit for the Magicomm Digital Pen and Paper System, and we have already laid plans for greater integration of our capture solutions with Cell C Service Provider Company’s backend processing systems, which will see even greater efficiencies and cost-savings un-locked.”
The solution being implemented by Magicomm at Cell C Service Provider Company includes the Nokia SU-1B Digital Pen, and paper enabling Anoto technology, that allows staff working with prospective customers to quickly and accurately capture the details of a given application for credit automatically from details written with the pen on paper forms. This data is delivered in seconds, via GPRS, to Cell C, where it is automatically processed. Other technology implemented in support of the solution includes Vision Object and Magicomm’s hand writing recognition (HWR) Enhancement library. Data Presentation is enabled in XML and PDF utilising Magicomm’s Perfect Image Rendering software library.
