The system developed by magicomm sends "proof of delivery" details back to NYK's internal systems in a matter of seconds rather than days.
Mark Tredgold, NYK's Head of IT, said "This decision was made predominantly based upon magicomm's flexibility with regard to their solution. We wanted to do the majority of the development work in-house, rather than pay for a 'managed service', and this seemed to fit well with magicomm's offering. magicomm also had a demonstrable reference system, implemented within tight timescales, which gave us the confidence that we could collectively deliver our solution within our time frame."
magicomm's Operations Director, David Jones, pointed out "Although we are fully capable of delivering full 'turnkey' applications incorporating the whole backend solution we fully recognise the need or desire of IT departments integrating Anoto solutions that we build into their own back-end infrastructure."
The system will commence trials on 21st May 2004.
